The British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) was set up in the early 1980's to represent the knee surgeons in Britain through its allied professional organisation - the BOA. Since then it has grown to become one of the largest surgical subspecialist organisations, which brings together knee surgeons with the single aim of improving their patient's care. BASK provides a forum for research, education and advises on healthcare management for all aspects of knee surgery.

The British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) represents orthopaedic surgeons who have a special interest in surgery of the foot and ankle.
